Steve Orner has been an arborist and tree surgeon for more than 30 years, following in his father’s footsteps. For the past 10 years he’s worked at Mansfield University, his alma mater, in the Facilities Plant. He continues doing historical research on MU school and the Mansfield community, discovering new and untold stories of the past, and occasionally finding and sharing missing facts in the local timeline of history.
Steve is co-author of 150 Years: A Photographic History of Mansfield Borough and Mansfield University. he has been highlighted in The Chronicle of Higher Education, the TV show Conversations and in the MU Blog, among others.
The goal of this blog is to share many missing details in the life of a unique woman whose life spanned the mid 19th and early 20th centuries. She was known as “Frank” and left a unique legacy in the form of a vast menu collection housed in the New York Public Library in New York City.
